What About Your “Internal Shower”… Are You Taking It Daily?

by: Carol Hope

In my continuing search for optimal health, I am always reading about the critical issues related to keeping my body in peak performance. This article is dedicated to sharing important points that my ongoing education has turned up.

People are always concerned with personal hygiene because we desire to not be offensive in the company of others, and want to appear groomed and well put together. But, what about our internal hygiene? How concerned are we about that? Talking to an associate recently, he shared with me that if he gets one bowel movement in a week he is lucky, and when he does, it is hard. Talking about bowel movement is not an easy subject to broach, but it is one we have to look at anyway if we desire to prevent our bodies from going into serious dis-ease. In other words, it is necessary that we are keeping our insides as free of toxic waste as possible. It can be challenging to find the right things to do each day to keep our bodies well, since everywhere we turn, people are bombarding us with magic fluids and pills that are supposed to fix everything. They may work, but you answers may be simpler than you think. To begin with, I discovered that bodies need to have sufficient clean water; not so much coming from the head of a shower, but going into the gut from the mouth. So I coined the phrase; “the internal shower”.

Here are some of the key facts that I encountered about water:

1] Water is involved in every bodily function.

2] Water makes up 70-75% of your body weight and 90% of your blood.

3] Water helps to maintain your body temperature, flushes toxins from the body, cushions and lubricates your organs, transports nutrients and helps you digest your food.
4] When you do not get sufficient water, your blood begins to thicken. This can cause high blood pressure and other related dis-eases.
5] Not having sufficient water can cause your kidneys to malfunction. Kidneys are to filter waste, and without sufficient water to aid the filtering process, they become distressed.
6] If you are trying to loose weight, the liver has to work overtime so as to turn the stored fat into energy. So if your metabolism slows down, you will not be burning the fat efficiently. Having sufficient water helps your liver to handle the fats effectively.
7] In the absence of sufficient water, people are more likely to overeat and cause bodily distress as well as gain weight.

8] Getting the right amount of water can be a tricky calculation. I use my body weight, divided by 2 and drink that many ounces in one day. So at my present weight of 165 lbs. I drink approximately 86 ounces per day. This is a good balance for me.
9] We can get water from many sources; food we eat, fluid we drink, and as a byproduct of metabolism. When you mix the water you drink with other substances, it has to metabolize the substances so as to make the water available to your body. I drink pure, clean, alkaline water with a pH of at least 8.5, and at room temperature.
10] One of the biggest advantages to ensuring that my body is getting sufficient good quality water is that I want my body to feel "in harmony". When my body is out of harmony, I have headaches, my stomach is bloated and feels out of balance, my skin has discoloration or pimples, I have offensive body odors, I get less than 12 inches of fecal output daily, my urine pH is less than 6.5 and the urine is bright yellow. When I am drinking sufficient water, I don’t have any of these challenges and my urine pH in the desired of 7.5 range. I test it once per day: first urine in the morning.

Some of you may never have head about testing your urine pH daily and why it is important. Testing the urine pH gives you insight into how acidic or alkaline your body is. It is time for you to learn about how excess acid in the body can be very instrumental in causing dis-ease. I speak of dis-ease rather than disease because your body may not go automatically to disease. This may be a long way in the making and there is much that can be done in the way of prevention. So I urge everyone who is reading my article today to begin to educate yourself on the importance of getting sufficient water into your body, daily. Cleansing needs to take place daily. You also need to look into how wholesome the water is that you are drinking. Then get the best quality water possible. After all it is your body and it is vitally important. Take your Internal Shower daily, to improve the quality of your life.
