Good Morning Ladies:
I am a RN, and I'm at a crossroad with my career. I'm searching for another part to play in life. I'm looking for a Mentor. Someone who is a LCSW (Licensed certified Social Worker, Family Marriage counselor, or Psychologist) who can give me some guideance. I am interested in going back to school to become a therapist and I don't know which Psychology track would be the most beneficial for me. I know I will need to go back and get a Masters Degree. Can I get a PhD in Marriage & Family Counseling without having a Masters Degree? My ultimate goal would be to practise as a therapist and to teach classes in the Psychology field. I am not interested in doing research. I am 51 years old and trying to get a PhD in Clinical Psychology is too competitive. Georgia State University receives 300-400 applicants every year competing to get into their PhD Clinical Psychology Program. Can someone out there advice me and give me some guideance in this field? I would really appreciate your help.
