About Women Employed

Women Employed's mission is to improve the economic status of women and remove barriers to economic equity. Since 1973, WE has been on the front lines of change -- creating and advocating for policies that deliver benefits to millions of women, like outlawing sexual harassment, passing the Family and Medical Leave Act, and making college tuition assistance more widely available. WE has a proven track record of making workplaces fairer for women and increasing their opportunities for advancement through training and education.

At Women Employed, we know that education makes a tremendous difference in improving women’s earnings. We also understand the many challenges faced by working adults who return to school to pursue higher education – from work/life balance issues to paying for tuition and finding affordable child care. Through WomenAchieve.org, we will share our knowledge to help you explore your options and locate the support and services you need to succeed in school and your career.

Women Employed's website offers lots of other resources to help you pursue your education, advance your career, and stay informed about issues that matter to you the most. Visit womenemployed.org to experience Career Coach, our online career development program that helps you plan and get started in your career, download fact sheets about your legal rights on the job, read our latest publications, and learn facts and figures about working women. While you're there, be sure to share your thoughts on policies that would help you achieve your goals and join our Action Network to make sure your voice is heard on issues that affect you, your family, and millions of other women.
